The 37-year-old pregnant patient (9 week) admit to the clinic with acute abdominal pain. Laboratory workout revealed the presence of a giant tumor – uterine myoma. Large abdominal mass was occupied both the pelvis and the abdominal cavity. The location of the uterus appeared to be atypical – at the right area under the liver.
Because of a severe abdomen diagnosis, an emergency laparotomy was performed to remove the uterine myoma, which weighed 8 kg (!). The operation ended, most importantly, with the maintenance of pregnancy. The patient was discharged with a progressive pregnancy in satisfactory condition.
She was at outpatient department of our clinic for pregnancy surveillance, and a few months later, she was admitted to our clinic in labor. After a successful caesarean section, a perfectly healthy, little Mary was born who turned 1 on June 15! On her successful delivery all credit goes to obstetricians and gynecologists of our clinic, who, with the right tactics and proper surgical techniques, have successfully managed pregnancy and uterus.
