Environmental protection policy in LtD “No.5 Clinic Hospital” is based on current legislation of Georgia, as well as on organizational-legal acts and regulations, which are developed by the clinic and it is the absolute obligation of each employee of clinic to defend them.

“Waste Management Code” represents the main regulation act of waste management. The aim of the noted normative act is to create legal bases, which will promote waste prevention and re-use of their growth, besides it will help to process for the waste environment in a safe way. In order to improve environmental policy and to comply with the requirements of the legislation, the Georgian government worked out the national strategy of waste management for 15 years period and National Action Plan for 4 years period. LtD “N5 Clinic Hospital” performs it properly and honestly.

Hazardous waste arisen from the activities of the companies and organizations registered in Georgia are obliged to appoint an environmental manager and develop a waste management plan. For the purpose to fulfill the requirements, the clinic created environmental management department, which carries out activities in accordance with the laws and the current waste management plan of clinic. Moreover, in order to promote environment protection activities in the clinic, the quality department, heads of sanitation department, the host of the clinic, and managers of various departments monitor and control the compliance of the established requirements. By creating an effective waste management mechanism and working together with the mentioned services will minimize the negative impact on the environment of hazardous waste.

In order to satisfy the general requirements with regards to the waste management, the clinic has signed a contract with a company that transports and disposes the hazardous waste. At the first stage, the clinic employee gather the hazardous waste and sort them by species, characteristics and constituent parts, and subsequently the waste collected for disposal and transportation to the above company. Thereafter, the collected waste will be transferred to the above-mentioned company for disposal and transportation. With the cumulative and proper activities, the clinic maximally prevents the environmental pollution, human health and life threats.

As mentioned above, the waste management plan is approved by the director of the clinic, where the collection, waste differentiation, storage conditions and methods are regulated together with other regulations.

The waste management plan of the company is updated every 3 years. In case of substantial changes in the type, quantity and / or treatment of generated waste, the company has a certified manager of environment protection, which monitors waste management.
